No School Tuesday

Grafton schools are cancelled again Tuesday, Aug. 30, Superintendent of Schools Jay Cummings just announced.

Three reasons were cited:

North Grafton Elementary School still has no power

A number of roads critical to bus routes remain closed

Phones are not working at and schools.

Some progress was made since last night, but not enough to provide conditions conducive to a smooth or safe start to the school year, Cummings said in a prepared statement.

He wanted to make the call early enough to give parents the chance to plan and to spread the word, since many residents still do not have working phones.
