Nomination Papers Being Pulled: Who Should Run?

Grafton's election season kicked off this week.

Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election were available starting Tuesday, and already, three people have shown interest in running for elected office.

According to Town Clerk Maureen Clark, the following residents have pulled papers for the following seats: Donna M. Girouard, town clerk; Teri Lynn Turgeon, School Committee; Amanda Diurba, one-year term on the Board of Library Trustees. 

Nomination papers must be returned by April 2 for certification of signatures.

Voters in the May 21 town election will choose:

  • 2 Members of Board of Selectmen for a term of three years
  • Town Clerk, for a term of three years
  • 2 Members of the School Committee for a term of three years
  • 2 Members of the Planning Board for a term of three years
  • 1 Member of the Planning Board for one year term to fill a vacancy
  • 2 Members of the Board of  Library Trustees for a term of three years
  • 1 Member of the Board of Library Trustees for one year to fill a vacancy
  • 1 Member of the  Grafton Housing Authority for a term of five years
