Parts of Town Lose Power, Transformer Fire Reported
More than a foot of snow could fall.

The Elliot Trail area of town has lost power and a transformer fire has been reported near the Millbury Street intersection, the Department of Transportation reports.
It threatens to be a long, snowy night, with more than a foot of snow possible.
The State Police reminds residents to stay off the roads if at all possible. They advise motorists who must drive to reduce their speed in poor visibility and to allow extra time if traveling by car today or tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through 8 a.m. tomorrow.
Total nighttime snow accumulation of 9 to 13 inches is possible, according to the weather service.

The night will be blustery, with a north wind between 16 and 23 miles per hour, with possible gusts as high as 39 miles per hour.
