Pepperoni Express Gets Beer, Wine License

IDs will be checked on all alcohol customers, business owners say.

Selectmen unanimously approved a beer and wine license tonight for

Owners Linda and Lakis "Lucky'' Theoharis said they wanted the license to allow customers to have a glass of beer or wine with pizza.

The alcohol would not be "pushed,'' she said, and would not be a major segment of their business.

They said they were aware that the business attracts a lot of families and that youngsters often hang out at the restaurant.

As a result, they said, they will make special efforts to keep the liquor under lock and key and would ask for identification from every customer, regardless of age.

They said they would undergo training in alcohol service, as was required by the police department.

They did not know when they would start serving beer and wine but would not do so before determing all the details of the hours of service and undergoing the training.

"We're in no rush,'' she said.

With the approval of selectmen, they were reminded that granting the license serves as a first warning for serving minors.
