Peterson: Town Should Change Districts
State Rep. George Peterson suggests town should be aligned with central, not western, Massachusetts.

Grafton would be better represented by someone in central Massachusetts rather than the western portion of the state, State Rep. George Peterson, R-Grafton, told selectmen Aug. 16.Â
And this might be the time to consider it, with redistricting coming in the wake of a population drop and loss of one Congressional seat in Massachusetts, he said.
Peterson encouraged selectmen to write to officials in support of moving Grafton to a Congressional district more aligned with Worcester County.

Grafton is currently served by U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, a Democrat based in Springfield. Peterson said Neal has served Grafton well, but having someone closer to town and in a district more aligned with central Massachusetts would make more sense.
Worcester and much of central Massachusetts is currently served by James McGovern, a Democrat from WorcesterÂ
