Police Get More than 60 Storm Calls

Irene kept dispatchers busy.

More than 60 calls came in to thet during the storm. 

"It was pretty busy,'' Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau Jr. said this morning. "I'm glad we had two dispatchers on.''

The calls included complaints of wires down at 8:32 a.m. on Bernard Road, 11:03 a.m. on Barbara Jean Street and at 7:53 p.m. on Donahue Lane.

Still, the chief said, things could have been worse. No injuries were reported.
