This field, which includes about eight acres, is top-quality pasture, as it has been a hay field for a number of years now, Backer reports on his blog.

The man who cuts the hay was not able to get  out for a second cut this year due to all the rain, so there is plenty of lush green grass up there that the cows are all to happy to graze on, Backer said.

“If you haven't been up to see the animals yet, then now is the time,’’ he reports. “They are quite accessible in their new pasture, and the view is spectacular, cows grazing contentedly in the foreground, backed by long view of rusty autumn leaves all the way to [Mount] Wachusett and on to New Hampshire.’’
