Repairs Needed on New Station
Selectmen agree to move forward with the work before seeking compensation.

Selectmen agreed Tuesday to go ahead with repair work at the new central fire station, which has been plagued by leaks.
The station has been dealing with the issue practically from its opening in 2009.
"We don't want to lose another season to leaks,'' Town Administrator Timothy McInerney said in recommending the town move forward.

The town will then attempt to recoup the expenses associated with the repairs. The design of the building was overseen by A.P. Whitaker & Sons.
Deputy Fire Chief Michael Mills, who also serves as chairman of the Center Station Building Committee, said the costs for the repairs "could be pushing'' a couple hundred thousand dollars.
