Residents Ripped Over Bad Trash Bags
The town administrator offers suggestions for those with torn bags.

Residents have expressed complaints about rips in trash bags, Assistant Town Administrator Kevin Mizikar reported at last night’s selectmen’s meeting.
“We think it’s isolated to a certain quantity of bags,’’ he said.
He said residents should take two steps if they purchase a bag that is defective.

If a resident purchases a sleeve of bags and one of the bags is ripped, return the sleeve to the store for a new sleeve.
Trash bags are just like any other consumer item, he said, and will be replaced if defective.

He also asked residents to contact him with the identification number on the bag in question, which he said is located in the bottom corner of the bag. That will allow him to provide more information to the manufacturer and learn more about the specific shipment of defective items.
He can be reached by email at mizikark@grafton-ma.gov or by phone at (508) 839-5335, ext. 180.
The problem is likely a lack of sufficient resin in the bag, he said. “The manufacturer is willing to work with us on this,’’ he said.
