School Building Project Comes in Under Budget

The new high school opened in September; officials now have an idea of the total scope of the project.

"Under-budget" isn't a term municipal officials often hear in these tough fiscal times, but it's something Grafton officials heard Tuesday when they received final numbers for the high school building project.

The total cost of the new school has come in nearly $3 million under budget, reported the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

Richard McCarthy, Secondary School Building Committee chairman, told selectmen Tuesday night that the new school, which opened in September, has cost $69.5 million.
