Sit for a Spell and Bee Entertained

The Grafton Education Alliance Community Spelling Bee and Raffle will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Grafton High School. Admission is $2 per adult and $1 for seniors and kids age 7 and older.

In addition to cheering on their favorite spelling bee team, those attending can also enjoy food offerings and purchase raffle tickets for a variety of items, including: An Apple iPod touch 8GB* MP3 Player (4th Generation - latest model), tickets to Bill Cosby at the Hanover Theatre, a three-month family YMCA membership and two passes to Silver Lake Beach.

Among the groups fielding teams in the competition are: Board of Selectman
Daily Grafton, Grafton Library, Grafton Girls Softball, Grafton Lion's Club,
Grafton  Little League, Grafton Pop Warner, Grafton Soccer, Grafton Youth Lacrosse, Grafton Elementary School PTG, North Grafton Elementary School  PTG, South Grafton Elementary School PTG, Grafton Middle School PTG, Grafton High School Junior National Honor Society, Grafton High School Senior National Honor Society, Savers Bank, The Committee to Elect Bruce Spinney, Gaudette Insurance, Optimal Performance Center and Apple Tree Arts.

Prizes will be awarded to the top spellers, as well as to teams with the most team Spirit, most original team name and most original costume.

The Grafton High School Jazz Band will provide musical entertainment.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Grafton Education Alliance initiatives.
