Staff Basketball Game Raises Funds for Grafton Schools

Two Grafton Elementary Schools faced off in a 80's-themed game of staff basketball on Friday.

There was as much silly behavior at Friday's Grafton staff basketball game as there was competitiveness - for every jump shot there was a hula-hooping defender.

The game pitted Millbury Elementary against North Street Elementary, a tradition that is in its third year as a way to raise funds for those schools' parent-teacher organizations.

An estimated 800 area residents attended the game, donating $5 each to enter.

"Its all about the kids - just look," Hilary Kreisberg, a 5th grade teacher at the event said. "It brings the whole community together."

Milbury Elementary defeated North Street Elementary 29-25.
