State Investigated Grandinetti Home
The children remain in the home after support services are offered.

The state Department of Children and Families investigated the home of April Grandinetti, who was indicted on charges of seriously injuring a baby in her care, spokesman Cayenne Isaken said this morning.
The department received a report when the alleged incident happened in January, Isaksen said. The department provided support and services but did not remove any children from the home, she said.
Grandinetti, 38, of 22 Maple Ave., South Grafton, was indicted by the Worcester County Grand Jury on charges of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery on a child with substantial injury.

The baby’s injuries reportedly included bleeding around the brain and eye and a detached retina, said Timothy Connolly, spokesman for Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
She relinquished her day care license after the incident, Connolly said, so day care can no longer be provided at the home.
