Rates for substitute teachers and nurses will increase next September.
School Committee members approved the increases by a 4-1 vote tonight. Committee member Daryl Rynning voiced the sole objection, saying she did not think retired Grafton teachers should earn a higher rate than other substitutes.
She said she supported an increase in pay but not a separate amount for retired Grafton teachers. "I don't see the point of that distinction,'' she said.
