Teen Reports She was Approached by Man

are investigating reports that a 15-year-old girl was approached by a man in a pick-up truck who allegedly reached out toward her.

The incident happened at about 2 p.m. in the area of Mill and Overlook streets.

She said she was walking two large dogs when the vehicle approached her and a man in the vehicle reached out to her, Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau Jr. said.

She then called police, who issued a report for town and neighboring police departments to be on the lookout for a white Ford pick-up truck .

Police are hoping to locate the vehicle and question the occupants, Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau Jr. said.

“We want to talk to them,’’ and see what their story is, the chief said.

They are also following up with the girl who called police, he said. The girl gave a statement to police.

No one was injured in the incident, the chief said. The police are continuing to follow up on the incident, the chief said.
