World War II veterans from Grafton are grateful for the town's support.

More than 60 years after he served in the second world war, Chuck Wenc became emotional when he talked about this morning’s dedication of a monument to those who served in World War II.
“Sixty-something years go by and people are coming up and thanking you,’’ he said. “The people remember. It feels good.’’
He was among a handful of World War II veterans from Grafton who attended the service this morning at the .

His fellow veteran Kenneth Larrivee also said he appreciated the efforts to honor his fellow World War II soldiers.
“It’s an honor,’’ he said.
“It’s wonderful, a wonderful turnout,’’ said World War II veteran James Kneeland. “I’m very thankful I was able to come.’’
