Community relations: 7.5
Here is a sampling of the written comments he received.
"Budget work has been good, but needs to continue to work and respond to the concerns and questions of the Finance Committee and involve the department heads''
"Is personable, but sometimes is not timely in his responses or has been reported to 'brush' people off''
"Has worked extremely hard at increasing professionalism of the staff''
"Has confidence in his staff and enables them to work independently and with authority.''
"Morale in the Municipal Center is below average. Many feel there is no direction and the operation of the Municipal Center and they [are] just putting out fires.''
Selectmen will discuss his goals for next year at a future meeting.
McInerney began the final year of his three-year contract April 7. He went without a pay increase last year, but suggested that selectmen should consider one for his final year.
The maximum pay raise he can receive is 3.5 percent.
