
Patrick Sheridan, a call firefighter for the , has been selected to receive the Massachusetts Call/Volunteer Firefighters Association (MCVFA) Scholarship.
MCVFA offers college scholarships to individuals who are willing to serve as call/volunteer firefighters and/or emergency medical technicians (EMTs) while simultaneously striving to achieve a college education.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must serve on a local fire department as a call/volunteer firefighter, attend college, and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5.

Sheridan is a second-year fire science student at Quinsigamond Community College where he maintains a 3.16 GPA; he intends to graduate with an Associate’s Degree this May. He attended the Massachusetts Emergency Care Training Academy in 2011, and received his EMT certification last July.
Sheridan has served on the Grafton Fire Department at Station Two for the past three years. Â Â
