Town Man Stole Railroad Ties, Police Say

Russell J. Speranza, 56, of 3 N. Hillside St., Assonet, was arrested in Grafton March 1 by State Police and charged with OUI and negligent operation of a motor vehicle on the Mass Pike. Judge Virzi found him guilty on the first charge, placed him on supervised probation to March 28, 2013, with substance abuse treatment and aftercare, a $600 fine and $65 monthly probation fee. He was found not responsible on the second charge.

Louis A. Falcon, 31, of 239 Boylston St., Shrewsbury, was arrested March 28 by Grafton police and charged with larceny over $250, possession of burglary tools and trespassing. He was charged with stealing metal railroad ties behind the Cumberland Farms on Upton Street in Grafton. Judge Virzi continued the case to April 25.

Tracey L. Denorscia, 40, of 2 Veterans Circle, South Grafton, was arrested Jan. 22 by Northborough police and charged with larceny over $250. Judge Virzi found her guilty, sentenced her to 2 ½ years in the House of Correction, with 67 days to be served and 67 days credit. She was placed on supervised probation, required to enter and complete residential treatment, to remain free of drugs and alcohol, to pay $448.34 in restitution and to stay away from Wegmans.
