Union Soldiers Reenact Civil War on Grafton Common
A few young Grafton residents took up arms to perform drills with Union soldiers.
Dressed in traditional Civil War uniforms, men and women aiming to educate the public about the conflict that divided that country 150 years ago performed movement drills and faux shooting exercises on the Grafton Town Common Saturday afternoon.Â
Inspired by the display in front of them, some young local residents decided to take up arms and join the ranks. They choked back grins while watching the reenactors from the corner of their eyes and following their every move.Â
During the event, the town rededicated its Civil War monument with help from Eagle Scout, Paul Howarth.Â
