
The date has been set for the Junior Police Academy.
This one-week program is designed to motivate young people to be outstanding citizens and become partners in building a safer community. The academy is open to young people ages 12 to 14.
The program will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, July 18 to Friday, July 22. The cost is $100.

Under the leadership of School Resource Officer Alvin Hulbert, students will learn the value of teamwork and get a glimpse of the police profession.
Students will learn the history of the Grafton Police Department and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the station. They will also observe K-9 training and S.W.A.T. team operations and learn about crime scene investigation and forensics.

Field trips are also planned as part of the week‟s activities. Class size is limited to 30.
