American Cancer Society welcomes Hingham resident to Board
Concannon to provide strategic volunteer leadership to help accelerate the lifesaving mission of the Society

The American Cancer Society is excited to announce the appointment of Jack Concannon, of Hingham, partner at the Boston office of global law firm Morgan Lewis, to its Eastern New England Area Board for a term of three years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jack to the Eastern New England Board and look forward to his contributions and unique perspective,” said Louise Santosuosso, executive director at the American Cancer Society. “The extensive talent and knowledge of our existing and newly elected Board members is critical to helping the American Cancer Society continue its mission to lead the fight for a world without cancer. We can’t and won’t allow progress to be put on hold because of COVID-19. We are incredibly grateful for the work of all of our board members in attacking cancer from every angle.”
With more than 25 years of experience, Concannon at Morgan Lewis provides counseling to privately held as well as public companies in connection with corporate governance, federal securities laws, NASDAQ and NYSE rules, public offerings, and SEC filings. Recent transactions he has been involved with include venture capital and angel financings, public offerings such as IPOs, registered direct offerings, PIPE offerings, debt offerings, mergers of public and private companies, tender offers, acquisitions of foreign companies, licensing and distribution arrangements, joint ventures, international financings, negotiation of executive employment agreements representing special committees of boards, and corporate governance counseling. He also advises various clients in their pursuit of purchasing sports franchises in the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, Arena Football and Minor League Baseball. Concannon serves as co-chair of the firm’s sports practice.

Area Boards provide strategic volunteer leadership to the American Cancer Society which accelerates the mission of the Society, increases the organization’s relevance and generates revenue. The Eastern New England Board consists of American Cancer Society leadership volunteers from eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine and aspires to a diverse membership. The Board is empowered to develop and execute strategic plans in eastern New England to advance the mission of the American Cancer Society and is one of 46 non-fiduciary area boards nationwide. Board members serve three-year terms with a limit of two consecutive terms.
