Hingham Man Charged With Touching Himself Near Youth Field

Witnesses told police that the man could be seen exposing himself in his car near the Lynch Athletic Field on Beal Street.

HINGHAM, MA – A Hingham man exposed and touched himself in his car while parked near Lynch Athletic Field Wednesday, police said.

David Hurley, 83, was arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace. He was arraigned in Hingham District Court Thursday and is free on $5,000 bail. As part of his bail terms, he must stay away from all public parks and schools and have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, according to the Hingham Police Department.

At 3:32 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of a man who was sitting in a car with his driver’s door open, naked from the waist down, exposing and touching himself in the parking lot for the field on Beal Street. A witness told police that children and adults were in the same parking lot on bicycles heading into Bare Cove Park. The witness also took a cell phone photo of the man before officers arrived, police said.
