From CdLS: Hingham native Isabel Teixeira toed the starting line of the 2017 United Airlines New York City Half Marathon on March 19 in honor of her sister, Sofia, who has Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS), a rare genetic disorder.
This was Teixeira’s first half marathon, and she couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else but Team CdLS.
“My first half marathon was such an amazing experience and I feel so blessed to have shared it with the rest of Team CdLS,” she said. “It was a privilege to run for a cause that is so close to my heart, and I was motivated throughout the race by how much support and generosity my friends and family showed for the CdLS Community! I can’t wait to run for Team CdLS again in the future.”
Teixeira also raised $2,330 through her CrowdRise page. This contributes to the more than $25,000 raised for the CdLS Foundation by the seven Team CdLS members.
