Police Log: Bad Week for Deer in Hingham, Holbrook Driver Cited

Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013

A caller reported to Hingham police at 8:44 a.m. that they hit deer at 65 Lazell St. at 7 a.m. The deer ran off, leaving the caller's vehicle with grill damage.

At 5:02 p.m., a caller reported a deer on the side of the road at 490 Cushing St. It was hit by a car and got up and ran into the woods.

Friday, Dec. 27, 2013

A driver hit the median on Shipyard Drive at 6:12 p.m. and knocked down a sign, leaving their vehicle with two flat tires and an oil leak.

At 11:53 p.m., Hingham police pulled over Jeremy Duncanson, 22 of Holbrook, on Lincoln Street and charged him with driving with a suspended license.

A caller reports to Hingham police at 4:37 p.m. that there is a deer alive in the middle of the road at 1057 Main St. The caller said they did not hit the deer. It was trying to stand. Then later another caller reported seeing the animal standing on the side of the road. It could not be located by the ACO.

Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013

This is an odd one. A caller told police that just before 10:30 p.m. someone hit them with a blue Nissan Altima in the parking lot of Stop & Shop. There were no injuries involved.

However, after the other driver handed over their registration, they took off toward Weymouth, leaving the paperwork with the caller.
