Police Warn of Man Falsely Calling Residents as Veterans Agent
The following information was provided by the Hingham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man claiming to be collecting donations for veterans has called several Hingham residents, and police are urging people to beware but also assist if possible in an investigation.
"Please be aware there are currently NO Hingham Veterans organizations soliciting donations of any kind over the telephone," the Hingham Police Department said in an electronic message Wednesday evening.
"If possible, please ascertain the company's name, address, and telephone number and report this information to the Hingham Department of Veteran's Services at 781-741-1440."
Police said Hingham Veteran's Services brought the fraudulent calls to their attention. By providing information on the caller, residents can help the Director of Veterans Services in its reporting to the Attorney General's Office.
