Retiring Hingham Principal Surprised with Flash Mob

Hingham Middle School PTO, staff and students joined with HCAM-TV to surprise retiring principal Roger Boddie with a flash mod.

Hingham Middle School Principal Roger Boddie, who is retiring after more that 35 years in the Hingham Public Schools, recently received an elaborate and surprising send off.

As Boddie provided a tour of the new middle school building to Hingham Community Access Television (HCAM-TV) cameras, students and staff got in position in the parking lot for a flash mob dance.

When Boddie took the tour to the roof, Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" began to play and students danced in front of signs that read, "Thanks for believing in us."

A video of the event shows the dance as well as the outgoing principal's reaction and appreciation.

"Well, when people ask me what I'm going to miss, I think I know what it is," said an emotional Boddie looking down on the dancers. "Although I always knew I'm going to miss the kids."

The video is available on HCAM-TV's website and Facebook page.  It will also air on television, the schedule is available here.  DVD copies are available as well.
