South Street Gallery Raffles Off Marathon Painting for One Fund

The work of Gloucester painter Charles Movalli will be featured at Hingham's South Street Gallery until June 30, in an exhibit entitled “Around the Hub: Movalli’s Boston."

Paintings, which were completed over the winder, depict real life in Boston.

“These won’t be Boston Common and the usual picturesque images, but rather regular images – people walking down streets, men going to work, policemen on the corner, and a view from Southie,” Movalli said via a press release.

Movalli, a Gold Medal Winner from the Rockport Art Association as well as the North Shore Art Association, has painted and written about art for 35 years. His work has appeared in galleries in Maine, Vermont, Virginia and California, among others.

The South Street Gallery and Movalli will also raffle off a 24"x26" painting of the Boston Marathon to benefit the One Fund. Tickets, which are $25 each, are available at the gallery or via email at info@southstreetgallery.com. The drawing will be June 15.
