Boy Scouts will be traveling all across town picking up old Christmas Trees.

By Joe Markman and Tony Catinella

If you are one of those Hingham residents who is tired of bringing your Christmas tree to dump after the New Year, you're in luck.

The Boy Scouts of Hingham’s Troop 1 are picking up Christmas trees this year for a small donation.

Tree collections will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 4 and 5 and Saturday, Jan. 11. A donation of $10 is appreciated and 100 percent of funds raised will go directly to support Hingham Scouts.

To be included in this year’s tree collection, call 781-749-2963 or visit the Troop One tree collection website athttp://hinghamtreedrive.com and click on the “Signup Page” link to reserve your pickup day.

Place the tree and the donation near the street that morning, and Scouts will come by between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day to pick it up.
