Vineyard Driver Hit With 2nd OUI in Hingham

A 52-year-old Vineyard Haven man was arrested in Hingham the day after Christmas after a caller reported him driving erratically and striking a traffic island.

Michael Kelly, 52, was charged with a second offense OUI liquor after police tracked him down on Summer Street, according to the Hingham police log. He was also cited for driving to endanger, leaving the scene of property damage and a marked lanes violation.

Kelly allegedly hit a traffic island with his Jeep Cherokee and knocked over a "Keep Right" sign heading toward Muzzi's Corner.
