What Are You Doing to Stay Cool?
Not every household has air conditioning and mine is included in that number. What are you doing to keep cool?

New England thrift sometimes has its setbacks.
In the winter, we don't turn the heat up beyond 55 degrees and in the summer we don't use air conditioning.
My long suffering children like to joke that they are forced to wear wool in the summer to wick away the sweat, for want of central air.

Today, to stay cool I went swimming in a pond and then drove two hours with the windows rolled down to Woods Hole, hopped a boat to the Vineyard, met with the editor out there in an unairconditioned building and then rode the boat back to the mainland. I am now driving my car back to the Greater Boston area and enjoying the remaining minutes of being air conditioned.
Yes, I broke down and turned it on.
