UPDATED: Holliston Business Quarantined After 'White Powder' Scare

Update: 1:59 p.m.:

Holliston's Fire Chief said the white powder was found to be harmless by hazmat crews. 

The envelope containing the white powder was originally sent to Washingtongton, DC in December. It arrived at the envelope's return address on Wednesday, which was listed as a Holliston Business. 

After discovering the white powder, an employee at the business brought the envelope to the Ashland Police department. 

The Ashland Police department was quarantined for over 4 hours, and the Holliston Business, Nordost, was shut down for around 3 hours, Chief Cassidy said. 

State hazmat crews set up a field labaratory near the station to test the suspicious materials, Cassidy said. 

The FBI is currently investigating the incident.

A Holiston business was quarantined on Wednesday as a part of an investigation of white powder that was found at the Ashland Police Department headquarters.

"An employee of a Holliston company brought the envelope into the [Ashland Police Department] lobby and slid it under a door, and the powder spilled out," the  posted on their Facebook page on Wednesday.  

The Ashland Police Department was evacuated after officers found the powder.
