Hopkinton Log: Car Vs. Telephone Pole Crash Leads to Arrest

Tuesday, Feb. 12

12:52 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle that was parked in the travel lane of West Main Street. The officer spoke to the operator who had been denied access to the Mass. Pike due to snow removal. The officer was able to assist the driver with directions.

3:54 p.m.: A resident of Lakeshore Drive went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to report that his truck windows had been smashed in on Thursday night.

7:26 p.m.: Officers responded to a break-in on Fruit Street. An officer took a report.

8:15 p.m.: Multiple 911 callers reported a vehicle that flipped while driving on Main Street and snapped a telephone pole near the Lisnow Respite Center. The driver, Patrick J. Healy, 28, of 9 Independence Way, Franklin, was arrested and then taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Healy was charged with drunken-driving, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. Verizon and NStar responded while police cordoned off the area for repair work to the pole.

10:21 p.m.: An officer put a deer down on Spring Street after it was hit by vehicle.

11:05 p.m.: At least one person was transported to the hospital after crashing on Cedar Street near the snow dump.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

6:37 a.m.: A caller reported that their backhoe was vandalized on Lakeshore Drive. An officer took photos of the vandalism and took prints from the area.

2:19 p.m.: An officer took a report of a hit and run crash on Main Street.

8:29 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a person sitting in a snow bank on Front Street. When an officer responded the person was no longer there.

8:37 p.m.: A 911 caller reported that two youths just knocked on her door and she wanted someone to check on them. The two were solicitors working in the area.
