I-495 Ramp Closures in Hopkinton, Talk and Vote on Downtown Intersection in Holliston

Here are five things to help inform your day.

1. The state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday morning it will close the northbound I-495 access ramps to and from I-90 from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, according to an alert tweeted by the department.

2. Holliston Selectmen will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Agenda includes discussion and vote on salary and benefit agreements for the town administrator and police chief, and discussion and vote on a downtown intersection study.

3. Want to help a college student pay for out-of-state tuition? A Hopkinton resident on Chestnut Street posted an announcement of a yard sale, with all proceeds going to help pay for her education at the University of Delaware. The sale is Aug. 16 and 17.

4. Liane Blyn, owner of Athletic Based Training in Holliston, recently returned home from the 2013 World Games, in Colombia, where she placed 5th in the power lifting competition. Blyn had hoped to place among the top 3, but sustained an injury to her elbow during bench warmups, as well as a case of heat exhaustion. "I refused to bow out and am happy to have finished 5th despite not being 100 percent through my bench and deadlift," she wrote, in an email.

5. Foxwoods Resort Casino Vice President of Compliance John Perry will be available to speak with people from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday about problem gambling, at the storefront offices of the Foxwoods Massachusetts casino in downtown Milford, 88 Main St.
