Veterans to Host Fundraiser for Injured VFW Commander

Funds raised will help Bob Lindsay's family pay for his added healthcare costs.

Holliston's veterans are set to host a fundraiser that will benefit former  Commander Bob Lindsey, who has been hospitalized since a car crash in September.

Lindsay is a Vietnam veteran and lifelong volunteer in Holliston, serving as the VFW Commander since May, 2011.

The event, titled "A Hug for Bob," will raise funds through a $20 enterance fee and raffles on items including Red Sox tickets, a vacation pakage and gift cirtificates to local restaurants.

“It is our hope,” said Ashland Police Department Chief Scott C. Rhomer in a press release, "that for someone who has sacrificed his life to his country and so much of his time to his community, that people will come out to support this cause and help ease the exorbitant  financial stress for Bob and his family.  He is for me an example to follow and a person I hold in high regard.”
