Boston Police Arrest Two in JP for Armed Robbery in Franklin Park

Authorities are looking at their potential connection with recent robberies at the Jamaica Pond.

Boston police are investigating a robbery that took place at Franklin Park over the weekend and looking to see if the incident is connected with recent similar robberies in the Jamaica Pond area.

Officers from the BPD’s District B-2 (Roxbury) station responded to a report of the armed robbery at the Franklin Park Golf Course in Roxbury on Saturday afternoon. Three suspects reportedly robbed a victim while he was walking along a path near the golf course; all three suspects reportedly fled the area on foot and were said to be carrying knives, according to the Boston Police Department.

After searching the area, officers saw three individuals matching the suspects’ description while in the area of Chilcott Place in Jamaica Plain. The suspects then fled the area and police were able to arrest two of the suspects near Washington and Boylston streets in Jamaica Plain. Police were unable to locate the third suspect.

Dorchester residents Rafael Motas-Pena, 21, and a 13-year-old juvenile male were charged with assault with intent to murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

Police are looking to identify the suspects involvement in other robberies that occurred in the Jamaica Pond, where they have also intensified their patrols.
