Boston Police Pup's Photo Warms Hearts on Social Media

Catch a glimpse of the Boston Police Department's newest addition wearing an oversize bullet-proof vest.

A local pup who may one day join the Boston’s Police Department’s K-9 unit received quite a bit of attention on the Internet Monday.

A photo that made the rounds on social media showed Tuco, a 9-week-old German Shepherd, wearing an oversize bullet-proof vest. The photo was taken for the Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog’s 2015 calendar, which also features Massachusetts police dogs from Boston, Bridgewater, Concord, Franklin, Manchester-by-the-Sea and several other departments. Tuco will be featured on the calendar’s May page.

Tuco, whose name is a nod to the character of Tuco Salamnca from AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” is owned by BPD dog handler Troy Caisey, according to Boston Magazine.

Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog aims to support Massachusetts police dogs by providing bulletproof vests and other essential equipment, as well as training, for law enforcement K-9 programs throughout the Commonwealth.
