'Fall in Love': Cat Adoption Fees Waived This Weekend

What are you waiting fur?

If you've been thinking of adopting a cat, now's the time.

The MSPCA's adoption centers in Boston, Methuen and Cape Cod are waiving fees on cat adoptions this weekend, a bid to help the older felines find a home.

MSPCA writes in a press release that it cares for thousands of homeless cats every year.

However, "Most of these cats are adults over the age of one. And while kittens are adopted quickly, adult cats often remain homeless for weeks or even months before finding a forever home."

This the second fee-waived adoption promotion this year. A previous August promotion helped many cats get adopted, but MSPCA says its cat rooms "have filled up again quickly, offering just a short reprieve."

Thanks to a second gift of support, MSPCA will offer its “Fall in Love” promotion again on Nov. 5 and 6.

The program is funded by the Ivan Smith Adoption Challenge, the Community Cats Podcast, and the Cat-vocates. Its goal is to ease the adoption process and to highlight "the advantages of adopting an adult cat with a known personality," MSPCA says.

MSPCA has an FAQ page to answer common questions about adoptions.
