Firefighters Respond to Roof Collapse in Jamaica Plain
A fire broke out at an abandoned building in Boston's Jamaica Plain's neighborhood Monday afternoon.

A fire at an abandoned building in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood forced a roof collapse Monday, officials said.
Firefighters responded to the vacant building on Armory Street around 4 p.m. Smoke was billowing from the roof when crews arrived at the scene.

The blaze collapsed a portion of the building’s roof. Officials say the building was scheduled to be knocked down in December.
Nobody was inside the building. No injuries were reported. Crews successfully extinguished the fire.
