Jamaica Plain Man Arrested After Shots Fired in Roxbury
Anthony Flores, 21, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammo, and carrying a loaded gun.

Police in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood arrested a Jamaica Plain man and recovered an illegal firearm early Saturday morning after shots were fired in the area of Tremont Street.
Around 12 a.m., officers were sent to the area of 1176 Tremont Street after nearby gunshots registered on the department’s ShotSpotter, a system which picks up and relays the exact location of gunfire in the area to police in less than a minute.
While canvassing the area for possible witnesses, victims, or suspects in relation to the shots fired, officers observed a group of five males nearby in the area of 40 Raynor Circle. As officers approached the group to ask whether they heard or saw anything suspicious, one of the males broke away and walked towards a parked motor vehicle, police said.

Officers observed the male crouch down next to the car, obscuring his waist area from their line of sight. As the officers got closer to the male, they heard a clanking noise coming from under the vehicle consistent with a metal object hitting the pavement. They were able to gain control of the male, and discovered a firearm underneath the vehicle, police said.
Officers were informed that the male did not have a license to carry loaded black Norinco Model 59.
