Jamaica Plain Man Arrested on Gun Charges After Police Pursuit

Dmitri Hall was charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, following the incident Monday afternoon.

A Jamaica Plain man is facing multiple charges after attempting to ditch a gun amid a police pursuit on Blue Hill Avenue in Boston Monday afternoon.

Around 2:50 p.m., officers observed a group of males gathered at a home on Baird Street taking part in an alleged drug transaction. Officers attempted to approach the group when one suspect fled the scene.

According to police, 20-year-old Dmitri Hall showed signs of possessing a weapon. Hall grabbed his waistband with two hands and ran up Blue Hill Avenue, police said.

During the pursuit, police officers observed Hall bend down near a parked vehicle. They then heard metal striking the pavement. Hall was apprehended shortly thereafter.

When officers returned to the area of the parked vehicle, they found a loaded Harrington and Richardson Arm Company .38 revolver.

Hall was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammo, and unlawfully carrying a loaded weapon. The other suspects were identified and released.
