JP Church to Rehang 'Black Lives Matter' Sign

The sign at the First Baptist Church was vandalized and then stolen earlier this month.

A “Black Lives Matter” banner will be replaced at a church in Jamaica Plain after it was vandalized and then stolen.

The First Baptist Church will hold a gathering on Sunday as the new sign will be placed out front on Centre Street.

The church’s pastor told the Boston Globe that the sign was first placed outside the church following the killing of nine people in Charleston, South Carolina.

In September, the sign was torn to the ground, surveillance tape revealed. In early October, someone ripped the sign from the ground and made off with it.

The sign, which will also read, “Of course all lives matter...,” will be installed at an event on Sunday. It’s open to the public.
