A Jamaica Plain man died Saturday after being hit by a truck while trying to cross a California highway on his bicycle early Saturday morning. Michael Arthur, 24, was found in the roadway of the eastbound side of Interstate 80 in Berkeley, Calif. at around 4:30 a.m. June 1, according to <a href="http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/jamaica_plain/2013/06/cyclist_from_jamaica_plain_die.html?camp=localsearch:on:twit:HLboston/jamaicaplain&amp;dlvrit=155351" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Boston.com</a> and <a href="http://www.ktvu.com/news/news/local/coroner-identifies-bicyclist-struck-killed-riding-/nX99n/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">KTVU.com</a>, the San Francisco Fox news affiliate. California Highway Patrol officials said Arthur was trying to cross the lanes toward the center divider, according to KTVU. The truck driver was a 41-year-old man from Mariposa County, according to KTVU. He was not injured.
