JP Group to Rally Around Climate Change

Sweltering heat, massive hurricanes and three-day-long blizzards, just nature or the marks of something more? A local group will discuss climate change in all of its forms at a potluck dinner later this month.

The Jamaica Plain New Economy Transition is hosting a Climate Rally and Potluck July 16. Here’s the info, from JPNET, on the event:

We'll hear about exciting climate actions happening this summer across the country as part of 350.org’s “Summer Heat,” and get ready for two actions here in MA. Speakers include:

·       Ken Ward, activist who blocked a coal freighter at Brayton Point Coal Plant with his lobster boat, the Henry David T (see image to the right)

·       Craig Altemose, Director of Better Future Project and 350MA

·       Andree Zaleska, owner of the JP Greenhouse and longtime climate activist

·       More 350MA activists planning the Summer Heat and Energy Exodus
