Members of First Baptist Church in JP Arrested During Weekend Protests
The two members traveled to Ferguson, Missouri to protest the killing of Michael Brown.

Two members from the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain were arrested over the weekend while attending protests regarding the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, according to a report in the Boston Globe Tuesday.
A group of more than 1,000 gathered on Saturday to protest Brown’s death and other police-related shootings, according to a report in The Huffington Post. Among them were Rev. Osagyefo Sekou, who serves as the formation and justice pastor at the First Baptist Church, and Colin Cushman, the minister of music, who were arrested and charged, according to the Globe.

Members of the church had previously announced that they would “participate in a national call to action demanding police accountability and racial justice in our land,” and sought to join others in protest.
