Monday Essentials: Block Party on South Street; Council Meeting

1. South Street Block Party: On Saturday, Aug. 1. between 6 and 8 p.m., South Street neighbors will gather at various businesses to enjoy general revelry and repartee.

2. JPNC: The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, July 30 at First Baptist Church. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

3. Elma Lewis in the Park: The Franklin Park Coalition presents this family show on Tuesday, July 30 beginning at 11 a.m.

4. Movie Night at Canary Square: Sunday night is movie night at Canary Square restaurant. This Sunday Aug. 4 they're showing "True Romance" at 10 p.m.
