One neighborhood where you won't find any restaurants, though, is our own. That's right. There are zero Jamaica Plain restaurants involved in "Restaurant Week." That's a shame. We've certainly got restaurants worthy of luring foodies out to our neighborhood. And distance from downtown Boston doesn't seem to be a problem — there are Waltham, Dedham and Wellesley restaurants that made the list.
As local restauranteurs have explained since this piece was first published, participating in "Restaurant Week" is tied to certain memberships and marketing programs. So it's more accurate to say that JP restaurants have chosen not to participate than that they were shut out.
