State Police Capture NH Fugitive in Boston

Kevin Paul violated his parole after serving prison time for being an accomplice in the murder of a police officer.

The Massachusetts State Police located and captured a fugitive from New Hampshire in Boston Monday night. According to officials, the 36-year-old suspect became a wanted man when he violated his parole after serving prison time for being an accomplice in the murder of a police officer.

State troopers arrested Kevin Paul, who was wanted in New Hampshire on firearms, armed career criminal and parole violation charges. Paul had been granted parole earlier this year after spending time in jail for his role as an accomplice in the murder of an officer in Epsom.

According to reports, Paul stood by friend who fatally shot Epsom Police officer Jeremy Charron in August of 1997. Paul then shot at police during an ensuing chase.

Around 7:45 p.m., troopers tracked down Paul at Albany Street at Melnea Cass Boulevard in Boston. Investigators learned Paul and a woman he was with were staying in the city after thoroughly searching through evidence. They apprehended him at a Boston hotel.

Investigators believe Paul is in involved in a burglary in New Hampshire that has stolen and traded firearms.

Paul will be arraigned on fugitive charges Tuesday, police said.
