State Police ID Victims Killed in Jamaicaway Crash
An Everett woman and a Revere woman were both killed early Sunday morning.

Massachusetts State Police have identified the two victims of Sunday morning’s fatal two-car crash on the Jamaicaway in Boston.
Maria Y. Hernandez, 44, of Everett, and Luz A. Puentes-Sheets, 33, of Revere, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at the intersection of the Jamaicaway and Perkins Street around 2:57 a.m. Sunday morning, police said.
The two victims, who police said were not wearing seat belts, had been passengers of a 2007 BMW 530XI, driven by Jennifer Guzman, 26, of Hyde Park. That vehicle reportedly crossed the center lane markers on the Jamaicaway and collided with a 2002 Toyota Camry, driven by Cesar Viasus, 36, and occupied by one passenger, Luis Parra, 43, both of Roslindale.

The drivers of the two vehicles both sustained non life-threatening injuries. Parra, the passenger of the Camry, is recovering from injuries at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, state police said.
As of Sunday, no charges had been sought, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said in a statement. Authorities, meanwhile, continue to investigate all aspects of the crash, including whether alcohol or excessive speed played contributing factors.
