Body Found in Upstate New York Believed to be from Crashed Plane that Left Hanscom Field

The remains are believed to be those of a cancer patient who had received treatment in Boston.

Authorities say they believe a body found in Upstate New York is that of a cancer patient who was traveling on a plane that took off from Bedford's Hanscom Field and went down on May 24.

Fulton County Sheriff Thomas Lorey said a body was found near an ice cream stand in Ephratah, N.Y., about a mile from the main wreck, and that it is likely the remains of Frank Amerosa, according to a report by Fox News

Amerosa, 64, and his wife Evelyn, 58, of Rome, N.Y., were traveling back from Boston where Frank had undergone treatment for cancer. The trip was on an Angel Flight, in which volunteer pilots fly patients to medical procedures at their own cost.
